Other countries have fiestas – but they are sedate and sober affairs in comparison with the variety found in the Philippine Islands. The Fiesta, in theory, is a religious procession held in honour of the local patron saint – in practise, it combines the excitement of an English Cup final, a Spanish bull-fight, and a Chinese New Year Festival into a memorable morning of noise and colour. The patron saint is the early Pope and martyr, St. Clement.

Acquitted, but forced to leave the Philippines at the time, Niall was allowed to return earlier this year, and the Radharc team went along to record the event.
