The Presentation Brothers in Cork City invited 42 old people to live with them in individual apartments in their former novitate building. This was another initative of S.H.A.R.E. – Students Harness Aid for the Relief of the Elderly. Every year for almost three decades, 1,600 students from all 24 of Cork’s second level schools have assumed the responsibility of housing and befriending their elderly fellow citizens. They can provide accomodation for up to two hundred people at any one time.
